Identification key to the Notodontidae occurring in the Dakotas

 

4C8.  (4C6)   Male eighth sternite extending posteriad for more than the width of one pit.  Forewing markings
            'crisp', transverse lines double and white filled, especially p.m. line in cells CuA2 and in the fold.
            Lochmaeus bilineata (Packard).

            the diameter of a single pit.  Fw with series of s.t. black spots only slightly sinuate.
            Heterocampa guttivitta

            the width of one pit.  Fw with series of s.t. black spots sinuate, markedly offset between
