Caloptilia negundella (Chambers 1876)

Common name: Boxelder leafroller.

Hodges #: 615.

Identification: Rfw 5.5 mm, vertex smooth scaled, labial palpi upturned, each segment nearly straight, proboscis without scales, fw pattern of purple-brown and yellow.

Similar species: 630.

Distribution: Southern Canada and U. S. west of Mississippi, east into Ohio.

Host: Larvae are leaf miners on Acer negundo L.– Boxelder.
