Amorpha juglandis (J. E. Smith 1797)

Common name: Walnut sphinx.

Hodges #: 7827.

Identification: Rfw 32 mm, wings mottled brown without brighter colors.

Similar species: 9547.

Distribution: southern Canada and United States east of the Rockies.

Hosts: Larvae feed on Juglans-- walnut and (possibly) Corylus-- hazelnut in our area.
