COMM 310: Advanced Writing, Public Relations

Assignment One:

Newsletter article

You're beginning your second week at Bigstuff Advertising and Public Relations, Minneapolis, when your supervisor stops you on the way to the restroom:

"Our big client, Fat Attack Inc., needs to launch its new campaign against high fat foods served in restaurants," he tells you.

"A press release?" you ask.

"No, somthing longer--about three to five pages, for their newsletter, called 'Fat and Fiction.' They put this out quarterly, distribute it everywhere, especially in grocery stores, malls, and so on, a freebie. They aim to get people to eat less fat, by convincing them it's bad for health. Why don't you do a little research on fat and health, maybe even interview some expert in the nutrition area, or quote some published expert, and bang out a piece for that newsletter? Need it by next week."
