Type Species: Accarana metallica Distant, 1888, by monotypy.

Tribal Placement: Has always been considered a member of the Halyini.

Comments: Below are some notes I took at the Australian Museum, Sydney:

Accarana metallica Distant - 13 specimens from Papua New Guinea. Males have the last two abdominal tergites metallic purple in color, females have the last 3 abdominal tergites same. There is a irregular band of metallic green spots running longitudinal mesad of the spiracles. The metasternum and posterior fourth of the mesosternum are deeply sulcate with ridge-like process on each side; also the basal abdominal sternites are medially sulcate to receive the apex of the rostrum which extends nearly to the 4^th (3^rd visible) abdominal sternite.
