Kim Ribeiro Barão
Universidade Federal de Alagoas

I am a professor in the Universidade Federal de Alagoas, in Penedo, Alagoas, Brazil.  My primary interest in the Pentatomoidea concerns the systematics, biogeography and morphology of the Pentatomidae. I am also interested in the study of patterns and processes of shape evolution in species and populations of the Pentatomidae.

I have a B.S. degree in Biological Sciences (2009) at Pontificia Católica do Rio Grande do Sul; and an M.S. degree (2011) and a Ph.D. degree in Animal Biology at the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul.

Current Projects:

1) Phylogeny of the Carpocorini based on morphological and molecular data (with C. Weirauch, J. Grazia, A. Ferrari, and F. Bianchi).

2) Diversity of Pentatomoidea of Alagoas and Sergipe states, northeastern Brazil.

3) Diversity of Pentatomoidea in the Caatinga biome.
