Planned sites: Theodore Roosevelt National Park, ND; Makoshika State Park, Montana: Stratigraphy of the Hell Creek (U. Cretaceous) and Tullock (= Ludlow) (Paleocene) Formations; Fossil collecting in the Cedar Creek Valley; Cedar Creek Anticline; Devils Tower National Monument, WY; Black Hills, SD: Bridal Veil Falls; Homestake Mine Pit; Mount Rushmore; Igneous and metamorphic rocks; Structures of the Black Hills; Karst features; South Dakota Badlands.

COURSE NEWS: First course meeting is Tuesday, Aug. 22, 4:00 pm in Sugihara 248.
DEPARTURE DAY: Meet outside Sugihara Hall, 6:30 a.m. Bring all food and water for Day 1 with you, and breakfast supplies for Day 2.
