Update. Here is a little file that contains a map of how to get to the CMS Conference hotels from the UofR campus, as well as information concerning bus routes.

Dining options. For folks needing food before the workshop: Here is a map of the area near the University of Regina campus that indicates some dining options. The campus is on the right-hand side of the map. Restaurants marked (1) are on campus. Those marked (3) are just off campus. And those marked (2) are a bit further from campus.

Housing.
During the workshop, non-local participants will stay in on-campus residence halls. The organizers will make reservations on behalf of the participants once they receive confirmation of attendance. Funded participants will not pay out of pocket for housing. Participants will be sharing rooms, two participants per room. The organizers will make roommate assignments once they receive confirmation of attendance. The organizers will work to honor roommate requests.

Housing for funded workshop participants will only be covered for the duration of the workshop. In particular, participants who plan to participate in the CMS meeting need to arrange for their own housing during the meeting. The following website contains more information: http://cms.math.ca/Events/summer12/accommodation. Note that prices are in CA$, not US$.

Workshop participants will be staying in the North Residence Tower on the University of Regina Campus. The main entrances to the North and South Residence Towers face each other. If you arrive outside of 8:15AM-4:30PM Monday to Friday then you will need to pick up your key package at the Security Kiosk located just inside the main entrance of the South Residence Tower. If you arrive during regular business hours then you will pick up your key package at the Residence Office Counter located on the main floor of the South Residence Tower. You should instruct your cab driver to bring you to the South Residence Tower at the University of Regina. Here is a Campus Map that may be helpful.

Air Travel.
Participants will need to purchase their own air tickets. For funded participants, airfare will be reimbursed after the workshop. Please bring a copy of the airfare receipt to the workshop.

Participants should plan to arrive in Regina on May 28. Those who will NOT be participating in the CMS conference afterward should plan to depart on June 2. Those who WILL be participating in the CMS conference will need to choose their travel dates depending on their plans for the conference. For instance, the conference will run through June 4, but the Special Session on Interactions Between Algebraic Geometry and Commutative Algebra will only run on June 2-3.

For participants from US institutions.
Be aware that participants from the US will need a current passport to travel between Canada and the US. In order to be reimbursed for your airfare, participants from the US will need to make sure to use a US carrier for air travel.

Registration Fee.
We are required to collect a registration fee (CA$140) from each participant, to cover expenses like meals and coffee breaks. The registration fees will be paid via scholarships from various funding agencies. You will not be required to give us the fee out-of-pocket. Instead, you will be given a scholarship indicating which agency is supporting your participation.
