May 4, 2017 - Vice President Rusch Holds Forum on Research and Creative Activity

Forums on Research and Creative Activity

Please join Vice President for Research and Creative Activity, Dr. Kelly Rusch, throughout the semester for a conversation on research and scholarly activities. While there is no agenda for the forums, Dr. Rusch would like to engage in dialogue and hear your thoughts on growing the research, creative activity and scholarly enterprise on campus as we work to meet the Strategic Plan. These forums are scheduled for the following times:

Wednesday, November 1, 2017 - The annual NDSU EXPLORE Research Showcase encourages and celebrates the scholarly accomplishments of NDSU undergraduate students and provides an opportunity for them to display their research and creative projects for the campus and the public.  See the NDSU EXPLORE webpage.


Day-long event with oral presentations and poster sessions.
Luncheon and keynote speaker.

RCA Professional Development Opportunities

July 13-17, 2017 - CUR Proposal Writing Institute at Concordia College, Moorhead, MN

Concordia College will host a Proposal Writing Institute (PWI) developed by the Council on Undergraduate Research (CUR). The institute has been developed to assist novice to experienced proposal writers in drafting complete proposals for submission. The four-day institute will consist of one-on-one work with a mentor, writing, small group discussions, and critiquing of proposals.

Applications  to participate must be submitted by May 22, 2017.

Applicants must submit a one to two paragraph outline of their proposal and the name of the intended funding agency and/or program in the on-line application. If you have NOT identified a funding source and begun writing a draft proposal, you should NOT participate in this Institute as it is geared for writing and revising draft proposals.

VIEW LIMITED SUBMISSION PROGRAMS

May 19, 2017 - Bioinformatics Seed Grant Program (INTERNAL PROGRAM)

 

The NDSU Office of Research and Creative Activity will accept competitive proposals for Bioinformatics Seed Grant research projects by the application deadline of May 19, 2017.  Interested applicants must have notified Research Development of intention to apply by April 19, 2017.

These seed grants are intended to launch promising new research projects in bioinformatics, bringing them to the point where they can attract more funding from external sources.  NDSU hopes to foster the development of a critical mass in bioinformatics research. 

Proposals should combine innovative use of informatics capabilities with a biological or biomedical research topic.  A limit of up to twenty percent (20%) of the budget may be used for generating new experimental data.

Full-time NDSU faculty and researchers are eligible to apply.  Two categories of awards are offered.
