Opportunities for Research Partnerships
The staff of the Business Development Office has a dual mission, both externally and within the university to:
- Build corporate research and foundation relationships that benefit faculty, students, staff, and the university
- Assist faculty to identify best methods to approach corporations and foundations for student internships, research projects and sponsorships
- Promote areas of research strength of interest to corporations
- Identify industry trends across multiple business sectors
Staff from the Business Development Office visit academic units across campus to gain a deeper understanding of NDSU’s strengths and to discuss short- and long-term research opportunities with business and industry. Contact us to arrange a visit.
NDSU seeks to protect the proprietary information of researchers, as well as respect the boundaries of our research partners. Successful commercialization of a discovery often depends on the confidentiality and protection of early research efforts. The Technology Transfer Office at NDSU assists faculty and students with invention reporting and potential patenting of discoveries.
