Creating Paths to Achievement
There are various options to maximize ways to enhance student learning through research and scholarly activity. Staff in the Office of Business Development also focuses on working with foundations that seek to support scholarly activity and research that furthers the mission of a foundation, as well as student learning and faculty engagement.
Overall goals include: matching foundation opportunities with areas of grand challenges in research, as identified through the strategic planning process at NDSU; and attracting funding to ultimately enhance student learning through research and scholarly activity.
Interested in exploring funding from foundations? The Business Development unit has a professional level subscription to Foundation Directory Online. This subscription allows us to search more than 140,000 grantmakers that include community foundations, company-sponsored foundations, corporate giving programs, government-linked foundations, non-governmental organizations, operating foundations and public charities.
Our subscription allows us to search by following criteria:
The directory provides contact information, access to Form 990s, background information on the organization, program areas and fields of interest. The Professional level subscription also includes the ability to search funded grants and information on the foundations giving for the last five years by subject, geography of recipients, and grant amounts.
This is a limited license so searches will need to be coordinated with the Business Development staff.
