First-year and Transfer Students

Welcome home to Residence Life! After you have been formally accepted to NDSU, your next step is to apply for on-campus housing. 

The below information is for new first-year or transfer students who would like to apply for a residence hall for Spring 2023. 

Please note: First-year students are required to live in a residence hall. For the 2022-2023 academic year, a first year student is defined as an individual who receives a high school diploma in January 2022 or later. Learn more here about NDSU's on-campus living requirement.

Spring 2023 Residence Hall Application

Step One - Claim your N.D. University System Account

In order to apply for housing, you must use your claimed N.D. University (NDUS) system account. Not sure if you have claimed your NDUS account? Click on the link to verify: http://claim.ndus.edu

Step Two - Apply for Housing

• After claiming your N.D. University System account, use it to log into the NDSU housing portal within Campus Connection. 
• Please do not use an iPad to apply. Make sure your browser is set to accept pop-ups during the application process.

Room Assignments

Spring room assignments will be made the first full week in December. You will receive your assignment via NDSU email. It will also be posted to the NDSU housing portal within Campus Connection.
