WHO CAN USE A DESIGNATED PRAYER / CULTURAL SPACE?
Residents of NDSU residence halls or apartments can utilize this policy. Requests are not approved/denied on the basis of religion, but requests may be denied based on space availability, improper prior use, staff availability, or substantial safety concerns. Students who do not live in a residence life facility may use the space if they are escorted as a guest of one of our residents. All space reservations requests must be submitted by a hall or apartment resident.
STORAGE OF CANDLES AND INCENSE
Since open heating elements such as candles and incense are not allowed in NDSU residence halls and apartments we have designated storage space in each residence hall, a space in Bison Court Apartments, and a shared space for the rest or our apartment areas. Speak with your Hall Director or Complex Manager for more information.
SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
To help ensure the safety of all parties involved, each space has a fire extinguisher available for use. Additionally, each reservation is assigned a residence life staff member who will check the condition of the room before and after use.
