Participants role-play the lives of low-income families, from single parents caring for their children to senior citizens trying to maintain self-sufficiency on Social Security. The aim is to provide food, shelter, and other basic necessities while interacting with various community resources.
As of 2014, 46.7 million people were living in poverty in the United States—nearly 15% of the population. The goal of the poverty simulation is to experience the stress and ramifications of living in poverty on a small-scale.
REGISTRATION OPENS WEDNESDAY OCTOBER 18th!
*If you’ve already participated in the event and are interested in volunteering please reach out by 5pm on October 13th.
