Leadership Development


Welcome to NDSU Leadership Development home page! The Student Activities Office creates educationally purposeful experiences for students that promote leadership, involvement, and success. Through partnerships, programs and activities students receive intentional training and skill development to prepare them for the real world. The intention is to offer students a framework for making strategic decisions in an effective and efficient manner.

NDSU Leadership programs:

Community Leadership

Community Leadership is designed to help students understand and promote civic engagement and leadership. Students will learn to analyze social, economic, and political problems through a theoretical framework and practical application. Leadership development will emphasize using tools of social change. Foundations of Leadership

Foundations of Leadership is an experiential semester long program designed to help students learn about leadership through interactive workshops, planning an all campus leadership retreat, and through a professional mentor relationship.

Harambee

This summer program provides students with an opportunity to learn more about cultural differences in leadership, how to develop confidence as a leader, how to communicate more effectively in front of groups, and learn about the customs and values of other cultures.

Masters of Success

Masters of Success is the Memorial Union’s advanced leadership program which prepares students for the real world of leadership and success.  We help students understand what questions to ask an employer to determine a company’s viability, leadership structure, decision making ability, empowerment of its employees, and whether the company’s environment will help them to succeed or sabotage their success.

RAD Self-Defense Class for Women

Learn and discover how your mind and body can work together in various self-defense situations so that you can break through fear and walk with confidence.  This class will teach you how to defend yourself and increase your overall self-confidence and self-image.

Summer Leadership Institute (SLI)

SLI is geared towards all incoming students and will help them get acclimated to NDSU and to get involved early in their college career.

Unknown Leadership Program

If you enjoy leadership and love the outdoors, this program is for you. This program is centered around leadership with multiple different facets. Unknown will challenge you to use navigation/survival techniques to navigate through simulated leadership development activities.
