Welcome Week is designed to help new and returning students adjust to the new academic year. Students will meet other new students, faculty, and staff, get to know campus resources and opportunities, and have a great time.
Welcome Week Leaders are returning student leaders who serve as guides and valuable throughout Welcome Week. Welcome Week Leaders will facilitate information sharing meetings, meet students at their residence hall floors, and bring students to Welcome Week events.
In collaboration with the campus community, new student programs provide services and assistance to aid new students and their families in the transition to NDSU and support students in their academic and social integration into the life of the University.
Welcome Week Learning Outcomes
The welcome week program is intended to address the following service and learning outcomes:
- Students will increase their integration into NDSU's academic and social communities and traditions
- Students will increase their knowledge of academic expectations, processes, and available resources
- Students will access and navigate the campus and available resources
- Students will engage in behaviors that contribute to a healthy and positive environment
There are several events that required participation of new first-year students. These events are especially helpful in students achieving the learning intended by Welcome Week so that they have all the information that they'll need to make a successful transition to NDSU. All required events conclude before classes begin at 4 pm on Monday. For more details about the required events, please click here.
