Faculty/ Staff Recommendation Form for Rising Scholars Peer Mentor Applicants

The student who request you to complete this confidential form is applying to be a Rising Scholars Peer mentor for the 2017-2018 academic year. Your candid evaluation of this applicant's potential to be a successful peer mentor will be useful in selecting a well-qualified team. Thank you for your time in completing this form. Rising Scholars Peer Mentors will provide program participants with the support and skills to assist first-year students' transition to NDSU, access and navigate campus resources, and help build a sense of mattering and identity on NDSU's campus. This position requires superb study habits, interpersonal skills, and leadership ability. Peer mentors will help facilitate Rising Scholars classes. Additionally, Rising Scholars Peer Mentors will act as a referral agent for students struggling either academically or personally and should have a genuine concern for the needs of our program participants.
