Welcome Week Captains

The Welcome Week Captain role is important to serving the needs of new students during Welcome Week.  Primarily, Captains serve as resources and mentors to Welcome Week Leaders and to new students at NDSU.  Welcome Week Captains develop a team effort among Welcome Week Leaders within each Residence Hall and serve as liaisons between Welcome Week Leaders and committee members.  Through the leadership of Captains, Welcome Week is even more fulfilling to new students and Welcome Week Leaders.

Welcome Week Captains are selected in in the fall and meet approximately four times throughout the year to assist in the planning of Welcome Week Leader recruitment, selection, and training.  Welcome Week Captains also serve as Welcome Week Leaders, thereby serving new students as well as Welcome Week Leaders.  Welcome Week Captains gain valuable leadership skills that easily transfer to other leadership and professional positions. While the time commitment is not great, both Captains and the NDSU community benefit from their service.  Read the full position description.

Applications for Captains are available in October. If you have questions about the position, please email Sami Johnson.
