Educators in Industry

K-12 Externship Program
The Educators in Industry Program provides four-week summer externships for K-12 teachers, administrators, career advisors, and other educators to provide a firsthand look at how the engineering design process and 21st century skills are currently being used in an industry environment.  Participants will earn 3 continuing education credits at no cost, and will receive a $2,000 stipend for completing both the summer experience and associated coursework.

 

2019 Program Timeline

  • February 1, 2019          Applications Due
  • February 4-22, 2019     Interviews
  • March 4, 2019              Positions Announced
  • March 18, 2019            Placement Confirmations Due
  • June 3-28, 2019           Externship Placements

 

Program Participation Requirements

  • Work full time at externship placement (Monday - Thursday for 4 weeks in June)
  • Attend 1/2 day Friday morning meetings in Fargo (4 Fridays in June)
  • Complete course requirements for Summer and Fall courses (see course syllabi for more details)
