Upward Bound is College Bound
Upward Bound is a college access and preparation program funded by the U.S. Department of Education and sponsored by North Dakota State University. It is designed to help students succeed in high school and prepare for continued success in college. Upward Bound provides students with academic, cultural and social activities that build skills, motivation, and self-confidence. Services and activities include tutoring, academic skills development, academic advising, career exploration, ACT preparation, college visits, and preparing for applications such as college admission, FAFSA, and scholarships.
The NDSU Upward Bound program is funded to serve fifty-two eligible students in grades 9-12 from target high schools. Those schools include Davies, Fargo North, and Fargo South.
"One of the best things Upward Bound has done for me is expose me to the college atmosphere. Having classes and activities on campus allowed me to see a lot of what colleges have to offer and what the college experience is like. This alone answered so many of my questions. I’m so much more comfortable and confident about going to college than I would be without this exposure." -Upward Bound senior
