Major: Biological science education. Impact: After undergrad, I want to go to dental school. Hopefully, getting my DDS and then teaching middle or high school. Eventually, I want to teach at dental school.

This Year:Over the pandemic, I went back home to Washington state. The 2 hour difference made it difficult to meet/hold tutor meetings. I'm back in Fargo this semester, so it's time to make some strong connections.

Favorite Subjects: I love tutoring math and english. Not my major, but they were my favorite classes in high school, and they've never stopped being useful in my education.

Fav activity: I played a lot of sports in high school, and when I was there I loved crosscountry. Other fun facts: I'm afraid of horses and allergic to strawberries.

Favorite Subjects: I've always loved English and History classes, but I've always enjoyed problem solving in Math, too.  Besides History and English classes, I enjoyed being a part of Student Council as well!

Something interesting about me: I tend to like a lot of things most people dread: going back to school, going to the dentist, rain and storms, winters that start early and end late, and the freezing temps we get here!

My name is Taylor Pedersen, and this is my second year with Upward Bound. I am a graduate student at NDSU in School Counseling & Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I enjoy learning and teaching about Mindfulness, and would love to incorporate that into my professional life after school. This year, I am looking forward to seeing just how creative we can get with our new virtual approach to UB! Looking back on my own high school experience, my favorite memories are mostly related to music - I was in choir and played French Horn. I enjoy cooking, biking, cross country skiing, coffee, and everything about my two dogs Raji & Jordy!
