Vice President for Information Technology
Marc Wallman has served as vice president for information technology since October 2014. Marc leads the NDSU Information Technology Division in efforts to deliver core solutions and propel innovation to benefit teaching, learning and outreach. He engages with those who foster vision and strategic discussions of information technology-enabled solutions, and leads all operations of the IT Division to support the mission of North Dakota State University and other institutions within the North Dakota University System that are served by the division.
Marc has more than 15 years of leadership experience in higher education information technology. In 2012, he was named interim vice president for Information Technology at NDSU. Before that, he served as the assistant vice president for the Enterprise Computing and Infrastructure Department, director of information technology infrastructure services, and senior system administrator, all at NDSU. Before joining NDSU, Marc worked in the central information technology department at the University of California at Berkeley.
Marc has been active in several regional and national professional organizations. From 2014 to 2016, he served as president of the Northern Tier Network Consortium, an organization that enables higher education institutions and research centers across the northern tier of the northwestern United States to connect to the national research and education network operated by Internet2. He currently represents North Dakota on the consortium’s steering committee and participates in the Internet2 Network Architecture Policy and Operations Program Advisory Group.
Marc holds a master’s degree in computer science from NDSU, a master’s degree in theology from Luther Seminary in St. Paul, Minn., and a bachelor’s degree in physics from Luther College in Decorah, Iowa.
Assistant Vice President for Information Technology Services
As the assistant vice president for Information Technology Services, Jason leads a talented group of professionals in the areas of Desktop Support, the IT Help Desk, and Learning and Applied Innovation. ITS supports NDSU's mission as a student-focused, land grant, research university in an environment of collaboration, teamwork and individual initiative. Jason serves North Dakota State University, the N.D. University System, and the state of N.D. with more than 20 years of experience in higher education, leading IT organizations, teams and initiatives involving a broad range of enterprise services and technologies. His diversity of expertise spans the southwest, east coast and northern plains.
Assistant Vice President for Enterprise Computing & Infrastructure
Steve provides leadership, planning, implementation and support for a wide range of IT services and resources – including networks, servers, applications, databases, storage and end-user experience – to effectively meet the overall research and business needs of the university.
Danyelle provides high-level administrative and operational support for the IT Division; coordinates the division's student technology program; and assists with special projects.
Curt provides statistical consulting services to faculty, staff and students at NDSU and across the N.D. University System. As lead of the Statistical Consulting Services unit, which is jointly supported by the Information Technology Division and the Statistics Department, Curt provides assistance at various stages of the research process, including project planning, data organization and analysis, and communication of results. He also provides assistance with statistical software (e.g., SAS, SPSS) and the Optical Mark Reader for test scoring and student ratings of instruction processing. Curt serves as an adjunct faculty member for the Statistics Department, teaching courses in Statistical SAS Programming, Monte Carlo Simulations using SAS, and the Statistics Consulting and Presentation Practicum.
Chief Information Security Officer
Enrique is the lead for university-wide information security strategy, which includes security policies, procedures, risk management, assessment and awareness.
Senior IT Security Analyst
Jeff assists in the development, maintenance and execution of university-wide information security strategy, policies, procedures, risk management, assessment and awareness.
NDSU Card Center Associate
Diane provides customer service and accounting support for the NDSU Card Center. She works with students and employees who are obtaining an NDSU Card, as well as other miscellaneous credentialing. In her account tech role, Diane works with accounting aspects of the Campus Cash and Campus Charge programs, along with accounts payable and accounts receivable for the NDSU Card Center. She also hires, trains and oversees the student workers in the NDSU Card Center’s Memorial Union location.
Program Manager for the NDSU Card Center and Software Services
Wendy provides leadership for the NDSU Card Center and software services. She engages the campus community to identify how the NDSU Card and its various programs can serve NDSU. Wendy also oversees software services at NDSU, which includes fulfilling software requests and reviewing software contracts.
Program Manager, Research and Education Network Resources
Kim's primary responsibility is to facilitate the use of specialized resources available through the global research and education (R&E) network community, including Internet2, the Northern Tier Network and the Northern Wave. Kim leads project management for NDSU’s key partnerships within the R&E community aimed at extending research and academic resources to faculty and students within NDSU, the North Dakota University System, N.D. Tribal Colleges and the state's K-12 community.
Assistant to the Vice President
CeCe serves as key liaison between the Vice President of Information Technology and the President, other VPs, Deans, Chairs, faculty, staff, students and the public-at-large; coordinates the VPIT's schedule; provides personal staff support for the VPIT; provides administrative support to others within the VPIT office as needed; oversees the coordination of events hosted by the VPIT, such as meetings, conferences, official functions, and social events; oversees special projects as directed by the VPIT (e.g. reports, presentations, surveys, meeting minutes); and assists with updating and maintenance of the content of the VPIT website.
Communications and Strategic Partnerships Lead
Kristi provides leadership and oversight for strategic communications to advance the mission of our organization; acts as a catalyst between the division and our stakeholders and partners to ensure continuity and quality of service; works closely with the VPIT leadership team and IT managers to strategize, prioritize and coordinate short- and long-term communication plans; and facilitates community engagement and fosters a collaborative culture for effective internal and external communication across multiple platforms.
