Why did you choose NDSU?
“NDSU was a school that upon my first visit here I really felt comfortable. The workers in the admission office and the students we met walking around on our campus tour were extremely friendly and helpful. It felt like a school that was easy to get involved and a place where I could better myself as an individual.”
Advice for incoming freshmen:
“Don’t stress out too much right away when trying to figure everything in your life out. Many students end up switching majors, joining organizations or taking jobs that they initially never thought they would. College is all a learning experience and figuring out who you are.”

“Grew up on a small dairy farm in a tiny town in southwestern Minnesota.”
The college experience that influenced you most:
“Working with the mentoring program at Carl Ben Eielson School in Fargo, working with the young refugee students. Just seeing the struggles they’ve come through in their lives. Before 10 years old, they have been through more than most of us could even imagine.”

What is NDSU’s biggest strength?
“NDSU is really a university that puts the students first. Small class sizes, student/faculty interaction and endless student services and organizations demonstrate this. In my four years here, I have seen many buildings added and expanded; new programs, majors, and services added; and new housing created. All of these things are for the students’ benefit, to help them learn and grow.”
Dream job:
“Working somewhere in higher education, a university director of admission or vice president of student affairs, something along those lines. Just something where you can really impact a lot of students.”
