  • Lawrence "Larry" Fick, 98, BS ’44 pharmacy, was the owner of Fick Drug in Park Rapids, Minnesota. He lived in Park Rapids.
  • Shana Vold, BS ’07 dietetics, joined the management team at Bethany Community as registered dietician and culinary director.
  • Shannon Terry, MS ’94 social science, was named public information officer for Otter Tail County in Minnesota. She is responsible for promoting county programs, services, activities, regulations, objectives and administrative proceedings to a wide variety of audiences.
  • Anna R. Johnson, BFA ’10 art, was featured in an article, “Limitless Creation,” written for The Arts Partnership, a nonprofit organization cultivating the arts in Fargo, Moorhead and West Fargo. She is a printmaker who shares Native American heritage through her art.
  • Brett Rathbone, MArch ’14 architecture, was named a project designer for RHET Architecture, a commercial architecture firm located in Fargo.
  • Brent Boeddeker, BS ’12 criminal justice, joined Ohnstad Twichell Law Firm in its West Fargo office as an associate attorney. His areas of practice include estate planning, probate, real estate and corporate law. He previously was a law clerk with the North Dakota Supreme Court.
  • Stephen Metzger, BS ’73, MS ’78 agricultural education, was honored with a North Dakota Water Wheel award by the North Dakota Water Users Association and North Dakota Water Resource Districts Association. He was recognized for his leadership in developing the state’s water resources during the 54th annual Joint North Dakota Water Convention and Irrigation Expo in Bismarck, North Dakota. He was first appointed and later elected to the Garrison Diversion Conservancy District board of directors, and serves on the Agriculture and Natural Resources Committee. Metzger also represents the city of Carrington as an alternate member on the Lake Agassiz Water Authority board of directors.
  • Thomas Newgard, BUS ’75 university studies, has written “Patterns on the Prairie: A History of Worship in North Dakota,” a reference book including past and present locations of all houses of worship in the state. The book, published by J & M Printing Inc., costs $35 and can be ordered by calling 1-218-236-8056 or by sending an email to tnew@midco.net.
  • Greg Kalinoski, BS ’73 agriculture, retired as a farm business management instructor from Northland Community and Technical College, Thief River Falls, Minnesota.
  • Dr. Thomas Kalinoski, BS ’12 biochemistry, joined UCLA Medical Center, Los Angeles. He graduated from the University of Minnesota Medical School in 2017 and is in internal medicine residency.
