Class Notes


  • Garland Erbele, BS ’75 zoology, MS ’77, environmental engineering, was named state engineer by North Dakota’s State Water Commission. He is responsible for regulating allocation of the state’s waters, dam safety, sovereign land management and drainage. He previously worked 35 years for the South Dakota Department of Environment and Natural Resources, and later was a senior water resources engineer for Wenck Associates Inc.
  • Jamie Upton, DNP ’15 nursing practice, joined Hospice of the Red River Valley as a nurse practitioner. He will collaborate with the medical director to provide medical care to hospice patients through face-to-face visits and symptom management. He was previously employed by Sanford Health.
  • Camila (Hueck-Llorente) Stadum, BS ’14 public relations and advertising, is the social media manager in the Flint Group’s Fargo office. She previously worked for Onsharp as a digital marketing specialist.
  • Katie Dauwen, BS ’15 marketing, joined the Flint Group, a regional marketing and communication network of agencies. She is a member of the account service team in the Fargo office. She previously was a marketing consultant for the Professional Advantage software company in Fargo.
  • Lyndon Drewlow, 72, BS '65 horticulture, earned his doctorate in floriculture at the University of Minnesota and went on to work for plant companies in California and Ohio. He developed New Guinea Impatient, poinsettias and kalanchoes, and earned several patents for his work. He was known as "Dr. Point" and the developer of the Polar Bear poinsettia. He lived in Lompoc, California.
  • John W. Hamilton, BS '73 zoology, was named chair of the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network, a nonprofit affiliated with the American Cancer Society. He is a dentist in Williston, North Dakota.
  • Joseph T. Anderson, BS '12 accounting, was named a corporate accountant for TMI Hospitality, Fargo.
  • Todd Jelinski, BArch '92 architecture, was promoted to architectural department head at Lightowler Johnson Associates, Fargo.
  • Terry L. Phillips, BArch '90 architecture, was hired as a project manager at Lightowler Johnson Associates, Fargo.
  • Kathryn Stenerson, BUS '09 university studies, was named sponsorship and marketing coordinator for the Red River Valley Fair Association, West Fargo.
