- Shonda Mertz, MEd ’05 educational administration, was named assistant principal at Sunrise Elementary School in Bismarck, North Dakota. She most recently was an instructional coach at Dorothy Moses Elementary School, and previously worked at Northridge as an assistant principal and as a principal in Sawyer, North Dakota.
- Lindsey Rendlen Latzke, BS’ 03 mass communication, joined the global labor and employment firm of Littler Mendelson P.C., as a flex time attorney in Littler's CaseSmart platform. She previously practiced management-side labor and employment law with the St. Louis-based law firm of McCarthy, Leonard and Kaemmerer L.C.
- Charles Huntley, BArch ’59, MArch ’63 architecture, was recognized as the “Unsung Hero of 2016” by the Rotary Club of Hudson, Wisconsin. The honor acnowledged his dedication of more than 50 years as a scout leader and other community volunteer work, including the Hudson Hospital, Hudson Parking Utility, Edison High School, St. Croix County Historical Society, American Institute of Architects and more than 35 years in Kiwanis Club. He was presented a Paul Morris Fellowship in Rotary International and an additional cash honorarium which was given to the YMCA for scholarships to children of deployed military personnel.
- Crystal Patterson, BS ’97 nursing, was named a regional director for the Salolampi Foundation, which is dedicated to preserving the Finnish language and culture. The language camp is on Turtle River Lake, near Bemidji, Minnesota. She is a member of trusts, estates and personal planning service team and litagtion and resolution service team for the Wyatt, Tarrant and Combs LLP. She is counsel to Wyatt, advising on fiduciary and complex business litigation disputes. She also is employed as general counsel of Gulfstream Commercial Services LLC and MidAmerica Jet Inc. and their affiliated entities.
- Lisa Kittelson, MS ’90 food and nutrition, was named director of dining and nutritional operations for Bethany Retirement Living, Fargo.
- Bethlehem Gronneberg, MS ’12 software engineering, founded uCodeGirl, a nonprofit organization established to increase the participation of girls in technology careers. Last summer, she organized two-day Metro Middle School Tech Camps for girls at Carl Ben Eielson and Discovery Middle Schools. This summer, uCodeGirl will host Crack the Code, an eight-day tech camp for girls ages 12 to 17 at NDSU.
- Madison Christensen, BS ’14 marketing, is a design and marketing web developer for Intelligent InSites, Fargo. She also is active in uCodeGirl, a nonprofit organization established to increase the participation of girls in technology careers.
- Casey Friedrich, BS ’10 marketing, was promoted to marketing director at Park Co. Realtors, Fargo.
- Lisa Klabunde, BS ’08 anthropology, joined the Dakota Medical Foundation in Fargo. She is director of the Coalition to End Child Sexual Abuse in partnership with the Red River Children’s Advocacy Center, Neuropsychiatric Research Institute and Cass County Social Services.
- Jalyssa Sorenson, BS ’12 anthropology, was promoted to assistant vice president at Gate City Bank in Fargo. Sorenson has worked for Gate City Bank since 2012 and is the investor and mortgage loan origination assistant supervisor at the bank’s corporate office
