- Brad Strand, MEd ’84 physical education, has received the Bernard S. Rodey Award from the University of New Mexico Alumni Association. The honor recognizes leadership efforts that have contributed significantly to the field of education. He is an NDSU faculty member who earned his doctorate from the University of New Mexico in 1988.
- Katie Furth, BS ’08 sport and recreation studies, earned her Certified Retirement Education Specialist designation. She is a client services specialist for Choice Financial Services in Slayton and Marshall Minnesota.
- Merril Rivinius, 84, BS ’60 civil engineering, was employed by the State of North Dakota until 1965 and then started a private engineering firm providing engineering services to counties, cities, airports and land development projects. He was an aviation enthusiast for more than 50 years, owning several different aircraft. He lived in Bismarck, North Dakota.
- Arnold Rethemeier, 74, BS ’70, MS ’72 agricultural education, taught in the Perham, Minnesota, schools and advised the local FFA chapter for 35 years. He was inducted into the Perham Chamber of Commerce Hall of Fame and Minnesota FFA Hall of Fame. He received the University of Minnesota Impact Award for Distinguished Teaching in 2004, Minnesota Outstanding Agriculture Education Teacher of the year in 2005 and Minnesota Career and Technical Teacher of the Year in 2006. He lived in Perham, Minnesota.
- Curtis Quenette, 86, BS ’74 sociology and criminal justice, worked for the Hartford Livestock Insurance Division at the West Fargo Stockyards. He was an Army veteran who served two tours in Vietnam and was stationed in South Korea, Bolivia, Philippines, Germany, Thailand, India and Italy. He lived in Fargo.
- John Hildebrant, 74, BS ’72 electrical and electronic engineering, worked for Northrup King Seed Co. before going into business with his brother as a vegetable farmer. He was an Army veteran who served in Vietnam. He lived in Fargo.
- Jamie (Pfleger) Fleck, 43, Diploma ’02 Bismarck Hospital School of Nursing, started DTN Staffing, formerly known as Dakota Travel Nurse, and Dakota Home Care. She lived in Mandan, North Dakota.
- David Green, 58, BS ’87 chemistry, worked for Inmont/BASF Container Coatings, Impax Technology Group, and most recently Formica Corp. He lived in Milford, Ohio.
- Jeanette (Snyder) Wiger, 72, BS ’77 home economics education, MS ’88, textiles and clothing, had a career in men’s clothing design, with long stints for Dillard’s and JC Penney in Texas. She lived in Scottsdale, Arizona.
- Curtis Lundberg, 70, BS ’74 music education, was an insurance adjuster with GAB and later was the claims manager for the Fargo office of Auto-Owners Insurance Co. He was a founding member of the NDSU Gold Star Alumni Band. He was an Air Force veteran who lived in Fargo.
