- Kevin Black, BS ’10 industrial engineering and management, is an account coordinator for Baker Hughes in Minot, North Dakota. He works in sales and business development with the company’s products that prevent corrosion and mineral deposits from developing in the state’s oil patch.
- David Stoddard, MM ’12 music, is a singer-songwriter who recently won the songwriting contest at the 29th annual Tucson, Arizona, Folk Festival. He teaches guitar, piano and music technology at Minnesota State Community and Technical College. He lives in Fergus Falls, Minnesota.
- Simon Anderson, BS ’13 human development and family science, joined Karvakko Engineering as a technician with surveying responsibilities. The firm is based in Bemidji, Minnesota, with branch offices in Minot, North Dakota, and Chassell, Michigan. He lives in Bemidji.
- Jason Bohrer, BA ’98 history, was named president and CEO of the Lignite Energy Council. He previously was chief of staff to U.S. Rep. Raul Labrador of Idaho, and was legislative counsel to U.S. Sen. James Risch of Idaho. He earned a law degree from George Mason University School of Law. He lives in Bismarck, North Dakota.
- Kelsie Egeland, BS ’13 animal science and equine studies, accepted the position of Extension agent for agriculture and natural resources in Emmons County, North Dakota. She previously was a technician at the Hettinger Research Extension Center and also has work experience as a lab technician at NDSU and the University of North Dakota. She also has experience working with 4-H youth through her involvement with the NDSU Horsemen’s Association at youth judging events and horse camps.
- Michael Boldenow, BS ’89 environmental design, BS ’90, architectural studies, BArch ’90, architecture, was promoted to principal at BWBR in St. Paul, Minnesota. He joined the architectural firm in 1990 and has been involved in projects ranging from health care facilities to research centers.
- Rachel Riopel Wiley, BArch ’05 architecture, was named to Building Design+Construction magazine’s “40 Under 40” class of 2014. The publication’s editors made their selections based on career achievement, service to the profession and charitable work. Riopel Wiley is the director of building information modeling, known as BIM, for the central region of HDR Inc. of St. Paul, Minn. She is an active member of AIA Minnesota, a state society of the American Institute of Architects, and serves as a board member for the Minnesota Revit Users Group.
- Curtis Lawrence, 73, BS ’64 agricultural mechanization, worked for Case Tractor and Moorhead Technical School, before being an auto mechanics teacher for the Birmingham, Ala., schools. He lived in Hoover, Ala.
- Harvey Flesberg, 79, BS ’57 agriculture, was a farmer who also worked for Smith’s City Service, Sahr’s Sudden Service and American Crystal Sugar Co. He lived in Fargo.
- Craig Kubik, 65, BS ’71, MS ’74 animal science, was a contractor and later superintendent for safety and training for Roers, a Fargo-based construction and development firm. He also worked at Kubik Angus Ranch and HK Quarterhorse. He lived in Dickinson, N.D.
