- Tim Brookins, BS ’87, MS ’90 electrical and computer engineering, was inducted into the West Fargo High School Hall of Fame. He has worked for several Microsoft divisions, and in 2007 was named a Microsoft Distinguished Engineer. Last year, he created the “Bison Tracker” app for tracking NDSU football fans. He also created “ProudCrowd,” a spinoff company to license the technology to other universities.
- Alexander Berg, BS ’05 PhD ’08, pharmaceutical sciences, PharmD ’10, pharmacy, received the 2014 McKeen Cattell Award from the American College of Clinical Pharmacology for his publication in the Journal of Clinical Pharmacology. The honor recognizes an outstanding research paper published in the journal. The article was titled “Population Pharmacokinetic Model for Cancer Chemoprevention With Sulindac in Healthy Subjects.” Berg is a senior clinical research scientist for the clinical pharmacology group of Upsher-Smith Laboratories Inc.
- Dave Sandberg, BS ’72 pharmacy, was selected as the North Dakota Health System Pharmacist of the Year. He is the pharmacy director at Mercy Medical Center in Williston, North Dakota. Sandberg has led or supported several initiatives, including barcode labeling of medications, initiation of syringe pumps for pediatric patients and the Safety First program.
- Rachel Black, BS ’13 management, is co-founder of GoodSurv, a free mobile app that allows consumers to rate restaurants and retail stores to earn rewards and share customer insights with businesses. For every 50,000 surveys completed, GoodSurv will donate $1,000 to Make-A-Wish of North Dakota. More information is available at www.GoodSurv.com.
- David Leapaldt, BS ’79 architectural studies, BArch ’80, architecture, was selected to receive the 2014 Louis Lundgren Award by the Minnesota society of the American Institute of Architects. The honor annually recognizes one Minnesota architect for dedication to the profession through community volunteer activities and professional leadership. Leapaldt is active in the Paramount Arts Trust, Mississippi River Partnership, Central Minnesota Community Foundation and other organizations. He leads the architectural firm IIW Minnesota, based in St. Cloud, Minnesota.
- Jessica (Meissner) Creuzer, BS ’11 natural resources management, is the new project coordinator for River Keepers, Fargo. She is completing her master’s degree in natural resources management.
