  • Terry Kouba, BS ’81 was named president of Alliant Energy Corp. He previously was president of general operations for the company and has been with Alliant Energy and its predecessors since 1983. The company has headquarters in Madison, Wisconsin.
  • Justin Wren, BS ’11 marketing, is an investment adviser who recently received his certified financial planner designation. He has worked for Iowa Wealth Management, West Des Moines, Iowa, since 2015. He is a member of the Greater Des Moines Partnership’s Young Professionals Connection and the Des Moines Catholic Diocese’s Young Catholics Group.
  • Kara Hanson, BS ’05 accounting, was promoted to vice president of finance at Hollstadt Consulting Inc. in its Mendota Heights, Minnesota, office. She was the firm’scontroller for the past four years and is a licensed CPA.
  • Donald E. Berge, 82, BS ’57 agricultural engineering, retired as a colonel from the North Dakota Air National Guard after 39 years of service. He was semi-retired from farming the family land near Hatton, North Dakota.
  • Burton P. Pfliger, BS ’85 animal science, was appointed to the National Sheep Industry Improvement Board. He is a third-generation sheep rancher who lives near Bismarck, North Dakota.
  • Kelcy (Holm) Hoffman, BS ’12 animal science, was named manager of the North Dakota Winter Show in Valley City, North Dakota. She previously worked for AgCountry Farm Credit Services in Lisbon and Valley City.
  • Barry Kuhnke, BS ’03 hospitality and tourism management, was named general manager of Lexington Marriott City Center and Residence Inn Lexington City Center, Lexington, Kentucky. He is a Marriott award-winning general manager who previously worked in Minneapolis, Fargo-Moorhead, Cincinnati, Memphis and Omaha.
  • Pamela (Larson) Bernhardson, 52, BS ’89 sociology, was the branch manager of US Bank in East Grand Forks, Minnesota. She lived in Grand Forks, North Dakota.
  • Roger G. Meyer, 83, BS ’61, MS ’63 mathematics, was a mathematics instructor at St. Cloud State University for 32 years, retiring in 1998. He was an Army veteran who lived in St. Cloud, Minnesota. 
  • Christopher P. Johnson, 43, BS ’01 zoology, MS ’05, plant sciences, spent his professional career at NDSU, working in plant sciences, entomology, and plant pathology, where he completed extensive research on potato diseases. He lived in Fargo.
