Amydria effrentella Clemens 1859

Common name: listed here as ‘Lesser dark burrowing-webworm.’

Hodges #: 334.

Identification: Rfw 8.5 mm, fw mottled with dark patch at end of discal cell, both wings with media stem in discal cell; labial palpi upturned, with massive tuft on 2nd segment; vestiture of vertex of roughened scales, vestiture of frons upturned.

Similar species: at present, none known from North Dakota.

Distribution: temperate eastern U. S.

Host: unknown, probably a subsoil root feeder or detritivore.
