Eudryas unio (Hübner 1831)
| Common name: Pearly wood-nymph.
Hodges #: 9299. Identification: Rfw 15 mm, hw yellow with broad, even marginal band; ventral surface yellow with black ordinary spots and fw outer marginal band showing through. Moth rests with extended tufted forelegs, moth resembles bird droppings. Distribution: southern Canada, eastern U.S., southwestward to Utah. Hosts: Ampelopsis sp. – woodbine, Vitis– grape, Epilobium– willow-herb/ fire-weed, and Humulus lupuus (L.)– Common hops. Perhaps only the latter in North Dakota.
