Quadir group is carrying out research at the interface of polymeric materials and biology. We are interested in designing functional polymers, macromolecular assemblies, and composite materials bearing the capability to mimic, interfere or integrate with physiological events and phenomena. More specifically, we are synthesizing new polymer architectures, studying self-assembly properties of the synthesized constructs and exploring the capacity of these architectures to improve human health. Leveraging on polymer chemistry principles, our research is aiming at the discovery areas of: (1) Disease therapy, diagnosis and prevention, and (2) Food and Water nexus. Our specific research areas are: (1) High performance, guided delivery technologies from nano to colloidal scale (2) Exploring interactions at bio-synthetic interfaces, and (3) Synthesis of new polymers and materials from bio-based resources.
