Hyperaeschra georgica (Herrich-Schäffer 1855)

Common name: Georgian  prominent.

Hodges #: 7917

Identification: Rfw 17.9 mm, with tuft of scales at mid point along inner margin. Thorax with a tuft of metallic scales behind ptagiae. Male antennae pectinate, the pectinations gradually decreasing in size from base to apex. 

Similar species: generally similar to many species check family characters- 8011, 8017.

Distribution: southern Canada and United States east of the Rockies.

Hosts: Larval feed on Oak- Quercus.
