Adults

  • Usually brachypterous (short-winged)
  • Ventral surface bright yellow, abdominal tergites banded with black and green.
  • Hind femur banded, hind tibiae red.
  • Male cercus 'boot' shaped.
  • Furculae about 1/4 as long as supra-anal plate.
Nymphs
  • Black coloration glossy.
  • Lateral white crescent extends from mouthparts to end of metazona.
  • Hind femur with black band notched on upper half.
