Identification key to the Arctiidae occurring in the Dakotas

 

22. (19b)    Forewing with postmedial line straight from costa to inner margin, hindwing ground color pink with dark marginal spots.  Grammia phyllira (Drury).

       

 

22a.  Fw with pm line bent opposite cell; hw ground color salmon pink to orange, with discal spot and marginal black markings.  Grammia parthenice (W. Kirby). 

       

 

22b.  Fw with pm line bent opposite cell; hw ground color orange to red, with additional black spots, always at juncture of CuA2 and Cu stem.  Grammia virgo  (Linnaeus).
