Crambus praefectellus (Zincken 1821)

Common name: listed here as ‘Common grass-veneer.’

Hodges #: 5355.

Identification: Rfw 11 mm., fw silvery stripe at base < width of darker area above it, proboscis with scales at base.

Similar species: 5344, 5354, 5357, see also 5378, 3149, 3014, 3035.

Distribution: southern Canada and United States west into the Rockies and southwest-ward into California.

Hosts: Larvae feed on Poaceae– grasses.
