Crambidia casta (Packard 1869)

Common name: Pearly-winged lichen moth.

Hodges #: 8051.

Identification: Rfw 17.1 mm, Palpi short, ocelli absent, vertex white; fw with only two veins arising from lower half of discal cell; ground color is 'flat white' not lustrous.

Similar species:  8053, 5392, 5343, 1011, 198.

Distribution: Southern Canada, northern and central U.S.

Hosts: Larvae feed on lichens.
