Ethmia longimaculella (Chambers 1872)

Common name: listed here as ‘Streaked ethmia.’

Hodges #: 999.

Identification: Rfw 9.3 mm, Rs4 running to costa, proboscis with scales; fw maculations tending towards streaks.

Similar species: 978, 980, 987, 992, 1001, 1003, and 2420.

Distribution: Southern Canada, northern and temperate United States east of the Rockies, southward on the plains to Texas.

Hosts: Larvae feed on Lithospermum spp.– puccoons.
