Type Species: Serdia: Serdia apicicornis StDl, 1860, by subsequent designation (Kirkaldy, 1909). Brasiliicola: Serdia calligera StDl, 1860, by original designation.

Comments: The first modern work on the genus was by Thomas & Rolston (1985).  Later, Fortes & Grazia (2005) revised the genus, describing a number of new species.
