How to use publications services
Things to know:
- Who you're trying to reach with your publication - prospective students, potential donors, campus and community, etc.
- What you want them to know or do as a result of your publication - that they choose to attend NDSU, to give money, to attend an event, etc.
- How many you need
- How much you can spend
If you've already got written copy, the information should already be proofread by you and approved by any others necessary. If you want help with writing or editing, give us a call.
General rule of thumb on timeframe: 4-6 weeks for writing, design, production and printing.
If you have written copy, bring it along on a disk. Bigger projects take longer, and advance notice is important because we usually have about two weeks' worth of work at any given time.
You will be asked to sign off on the design before it goes to press. For projects costing more than $5,000.00, a purchase requisition must be submitted. Type onto the form "Forward to Publications Services for bidding" and Purchasing will give us the requisition.
