In order to serve you better, we have added all-day walk-in
appointments, available Monday through Friday during regular office
hours.
Walk-in appointments are on a first come, first served basis, and
we will continue to offer appointment times with international
student advisors.
We hope that our new walk-in schedule will be convenient for you
and we encourage you to take advantage of these new times!
Attention students: OPT information has been updated on the OIP website. In addition, requirements for OPT extensions have also been updated, including information on 17-month STEM extensions and Cap-Gap extensions.
Foreign nationals who are studying, teaching, or engaged in research activities in the United States are subject to federal and state income taxation on any income earned in the U.S. from teaching and research assistantships. All international students and scholars are required to file federal and state income tax forms regardless of whether they earned income.
Click here for more information on taxes.
Employment Seminars are for F-1 students interested in Curricular Practical Training (CPT) and Optional Practical Training (OPT). The seminars are designed to inform students of the rules, regulations, and procedures regarding practical traninig. Students are required to attend one of these seminars before meeting with an advisor to talk about or apply for practical training.
Next seminar: Seminars will begin again during the Fall 2009 semester. Please check back for dates.
Because students must be in F-1 status for one academic year before becoming eligible to apply for CPT or OPT, we ask that you wait until your second semester to attend an employment seminar.
