English Proficiency Requirements

  • TOEFL iBT 79
  • IELTS 6.5
    • A conditional admission may be offered to students with a TOEFL iBT 71 or IELTS 6.0 score.If a student is admitted conditionally based on a TOEFL of 71 or IELTS of 6.0, the student will have to complete IELP Full Course; Level E* – One semester.The course can be divided over 2 semesters in order to take academic courses concurrently. If a student re-takes one of the English exams and achieves either a 6.5 or 79, the condition will be dropped.
    • Additional cost for the IELP course will be the student's responsibility.

 

The Department of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering offers graduate study leading to M.S. or Ph.D. degrees. The program emphasizes solving engineering problems for agricultural production, food and value-added processing, and environmental resource management. Advanced work may involve specialized training in the following areas:

  • irrigation engineering and management
  • food engineering
  • value-added processing
  • bioprocessing
  • agricultural machine systems
  • machine vision and intelligent sensors for biological systems
  • post-harvest handling and storage of biological materials
  • agricultural hydrology
  • soil and water resources management
  • biorenewable energy

Student research and academic programs are tailored to individual student needs and interests. Interdisciplinary approaches to agricultural and biosystems are fostered.
