Come join us to cast your ballot for North Dakota Wheat Commission's new county representative, learn from a variety of speakers, and enjoy a free meal!
We will begin with lunch and elections at 11:30 am, followed by an afternoon of speakers. This year, Logan County's commodity elections are wheat and soybeans. A Wheat Commission Representative will be available to say a few words and to answer any questions. North Dakota Soybean Council's County Representative Elections occur via mail; official election ballots will be mailed by February 17th. ANR Extension Agent Josh Becker will be on hand if you have any questions. NDSC District 12 Elections will take place on Wednesday, March 25th at 1:00 pm at the Mandan Eagles Club.
Speakers
North Dakota Wheat Commission (NDWC) Representative
Commodity elections are important because they offer local producers a direct voice in how wheat checkoff funds are invested. Logan County's elected representatives advocate for local interests and elect one member from the South Central (District 3) region to the seven-person NDWC Board of Commissioners. This grassroots involvement ensures that checkoff programs - ranging from research to market development - align with the actual needs of North Dakota wheat producers.
County representatives serve a four-year term and typically meet once per year at the annual meeting. NDWC District 3 Elections will take place on Monday, March 23rd at 10:30 am at the Amvets Meeting Room in Steele, ND.
