Ramsey County 4-H Invitational Air Rifle Match

Contestants must be enrolled in 4-H Shooting Sports pro-gram for current year.  

Participants have the choice of in person shooting on February 15 in Devils Lake by pre-registering for a time of either 9 am or 11 am; or can choose to hold the match at their home range under the supervision of a certified instructor. If the latter is chosen, Ramsey County will send the registered targets to each County Extension office to be fired at the competitor’s home range and then returned to Ramsey County for scoring. Age Divisions

8-10 Beginner 
Beginners (8-10 yr olds) will fire seated with the rifle on a  rest and elbows on the bench/table. We recommend that they have a coach.

11-13 Junior
14-18 Senior 
Juniors & Seniors must stand free, without support, completely within the firing point.
 

Clothing and Equipment

• Air Rifle .177 Caliber Pellets only—Sporter Air Rifle. 
• 4-H T shirt preferred, required closed toed shoes, and safety glass-es. 

Course of Fire

Competitors will fire a total of 60 shots for score with 2 shots per scoring bull & unlimited sighting shots on 3 separate targets of 20 record shots.
 

Target

AR 5/10 International 10-meter air rifle targets will be provided. 

8 minutes for initial sighting shots followed by 25 minutes for 20 scoring shots. Then, a 5 minute sighting period followed by another 25 minute period for 20 scoring shots. Then a final 5 minute sighting period followed by the final 20 scoring shots.
