NDSU sets Moos, Ewes and More event for Oct. 24

Youth, families and anyone interested in learning about animals are invited to the North Dakota State University campus for the annual “Moos, Ewes and More” event.

NDSU’s Department of Animal Sciences will host the event on Oct. 24 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the NDSU Equine Center in Fargo, North Dakota.

Attendees can meet animals from the various livestock units on campus, the barn managers and workers who care for them, and faculty and staff who teach and perform research in the NDSU Department of Animal Science.

“This free, family-friendly event allows people of all ages to see livestock up close and learn about how they are cared for and all the ways these animals help improve our lives,” says Dr. Jake Galbreath, NDSU Extension veterinarian and event co-chair.

Attendees will have the opportunity to see, smell, hear and touch animals, including calves, pigs, sheep and horses. Event-goers will also get the chance to learn about biology, genetics, hygiene, nutrition and more from experts in their fields.

A popular attraction returning this year is horse-drawn wagon rides, courtesy of Keith Johnson and Bernie Johnson.

Attendees are invited to wear their Halloween costumes or dress up as their favorite animals.
