NDSU Graduate School hires two

The NDSU Graduate School has hired two new staff members.

Karen P. Peirce has been hired as the graduate writing coordinator in the NDSU Graduate School and the Center for Writers. In this role, she will promote professional graduate student writing, review theses and dissertations for requirements and clarity and coordinate and conduct writing workshops.

Peirce previously has held positions as an assistant professor at The United States Military Academy, West Point, N.Y.; graduate associate in teaching at the University of Arizona, Tucson, Ariz.; and as an upper division English teacher at Berkeley Preparatory School in Tampa, Fla. She earned a doctorate from the University of Arizona, a master's degree from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh and an honors bachelor of arts degree from Rollins College, Winter Park, Fla.

Madonna Fitzgerald has been hired as an academic assistant in the Graduate School. She will work with graduate interdisciplinary programs to provide administrative support, create and maintain student records and assist with recruitment of graduate interdisciplinary students.

Fitzgerald previously worked as a branch office administrator for Edward Jones & Associates in Fargo and as the assistant to the bishop at the Diocese of Fargo. She earned a master's degree from Minnesota State University Moorhead and a bachelor's degree from NDSU.
