Visitor Parking Information

Paid Parking
Paid parking is available in the Visitor Lot, Wellness Center Lot, T2 Lot and Memorial Union Lot for short duration visits to academic or administrative offices. See the Campus Map for lot locations. Instructions for using the self-service pay stations are located at each kiosk.  Select the amount of time you want to park, pay with the correct amount of coins, bills or a major debit/credit card (MC, Visa, Discover) and collect your receipt.  Place the receipt face-up on your driver’s side dashboard so that it is completely visible.  This receipt will act as your parking permit. Complete NDSU Pay Station Instruction.

Paid parking is also available using smart phones by downloading the Passport Parking APP! From this app, you can select the available pay lots to park in and the amount of time needed. All that is required is a valid license plate number and a debit/credit card for payment. Your license plate acts as your permit. Pay lots accessible with the Passport Parking App are Memorial Union lot, T2 lot, Visitor lot and Wellness Center lot. If questions arise once app is downloaded, please view Passport Parking Easy Instructions.

Time Zone Parking
Time zone parking areas are located throughout campus and have been designated to facilitate short-term accessibility to certain university buildings and offices.  Most time zones do not require a permit and are posted for 15–30 minute maximum parking (as posted) for every four hour period.

Special Event/Conference Parking
A permit is required for registered guests and /or speakers at university events and conferences held during university business hours.  Attendees should contact the event or conference host for specific parking instructions.  Anyone attending special events or conferences are welcome to park at no cost in any appropriately posted parking lot after 4:30 p.m. until 7 a.m. weekdays and all day Saturdays, Sundays and official state holidays.  Guests attending athletic events at Newman Outdoor Field, Benson Bunker Fieldhouse (BBF), Sanford Health Athletics Complex (S.H.A.C) or the FargoDome should contact those venues for specific parking information.
