The NDSU Bison Brass Quintet was founded in 2008 as a tool to promote and recruit for the Challey School of Music. This is accomplished by means of tours and performances in the upper Midwest in addition to chamber concerts presented on campus. The ensemble performs a variety of music ranging from Baroque to Dixieland.
