The Pancreas

The endocrine portion of the pancreas consists of many tiny groups of endocrine cells called the Pancreatic Islets spread throughout the organ.

Hormones

	Insulin tends to decrease high levels of glucose in the blood by decreasing its production and increasing its uptake and utilization by cells.
	Glucagon tends to increase the blood glucose level.
